Over a hundred works of art will decorate the walls of the Arts Council of SE Missouri as high school students from sixteen counties compete in a juried show to ultimately get their work placed in the halls of the White House in Washington DC. 8th district US Congressman Jason Smith will host a reception to announce the top winners at the gallery this Friday from 5 to 9pm. Executive Director Murielle Gaither tells KZIM KSIM one of the coolest things about these artists is their age!
The 10 finalists and top winners will be announced at 6pm. There will be beverages and light appetizers at the event. All 2 dimensional pieces will be on display. 1st place will get airfare and invitations to the reception for the unveiling of their artwork in the capitol.
