A Jackson man suffered minor injuries after a Missouri State Highway Patrol car rear-ended him Saturday afternoon. At 4:15 p.m. Saturday, Michael Dennison, 51, of Jackson was making a U-turn on U.S. 61 a half-mile south of Highway 177 in his 2008 Hyundai Elantra and began to stop when Missouri State Highway patrolman Perry Hazelwood, driving a 2013 Dodge Charger patrol car, struck the rear of the vehicle. The Charger sustained damage to the front left, driver’s side and undercarriage. Estimated repairs are $5,000, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s online record. Dennison was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center with minor injuries. No one was available for comment at the highway patrol, and online records do not show whether any tickets were issued.
