TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .

Michael Jon Neubecker, 31, who was busted for robbing a Florida bank after another man in line turned out to be a mixed martial arts instructor who pinned him down.

Neubecker was demanding money from a teller at the same time that Eric Haritakis, the instructor, was making a deposit at the next window.

The instructor overheard Neubecker threatening the teller and chased him out of the bank.

Surveillance video from a nearby business shows him chasing the suspect, pinning him down, and hog-tying him with duct tape until police arrived.

AND THEN THERE’S …..

Timothy Bontrager, 29, a Florida man who was busted for a home burglary after he fell asleep on the victim’s couch.

Police say the resident in the home was awakened by the sound of Bontrager snoring on her couch.

When she asked Bontrager what he was doing in her house, he apologized and left after she told him she was calling police.

He was found a short time later with the woman’s wallet, driver’s license, credit, and debit cards, and checks.

OR HOW ABOUT …..

John Paul Jones Jr., who deliberately drove his pickup truck through his own home in Georgia because he felt like it.

Jones told a reporter that he had just gotten off the phone with his wife and the conversation made him so angry, he got in his pickup truck in the backyard and drove to the front yard by way of the living room.

He told a local reporter, “I don’t know, it was just one of those spur of the moment crazy things.”

Soon after the crash, neighbors called 911.

Jones is not being charged with a crime because there’s nothing against the law about driving a truck through a house, as long as it’s your truck and your house.

OKAY, ONE MORE …..

Cory Lee Shinkman, 23, a Florida man who was arrested on felony battery charges, after he attacked a family member over the way she cooked hard-boiled eggs.

Shinkman was in the kitchen with his cousin and did not agree with the way she was cooking hard-boiled eggs, so he shoved her out of the back door of the house and pushed her against a dresser.

He was arrested and he’s facing a felony battery charge.

No word on why there was a dresser in the back yard.
