Plans have been delayed on a Scott City Main Street construction project. At the first City council meeting in May, city administrator Ron Eskew said construction would begin June 1 on Main Street from Crites Street to Chester Avenue and continue through Sept. 1. On June 3 resident engineer for the Missouri Department of Transportation, Brian Holt notified city officials paving will begin the week of June 15 instead. Fronabarger Concreters has been subcontracted to complete that portion of the work. Chester Bross Construction Co. will do the asphalt work in late July. Mayor Tim Porch said the construction still is scheduled to wrap up quickly toward the end of summer to avoid inconveniencing the school. In addition to expanding the roadways, driveways will be reconstructed to reduce pooling water that runs into the gutters.
