A second suspect is being sought in connection with the June 6 shooting death of TyRussell Davis. 22-year old Kelvin Knight is being sought by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety on a warrant for murder, assault, robbery and armed criminal action. DPS Director Drew Juden says one person is in custody and this is the other suspect. The charges are from a shooting about 11:10 p.m. June 6. Sikeston officers received a call of shots fired around the intersection of Welter Drive and Lee Avenue. Captain Jim McMillen says officers found a sport utility vehicle stopped near the intersection in the middle of the road. Davis, of St. Louis, was found dead from gunshot wounds. Also injured during the attack was a 22-year-old passenger, who has not been named. That victim, found in a nearby lot a few yards from the vehicle, was transported to a hospital and treated for three gunshot wounds. The SEMO Major Case Squad was activated for the investigation that led to the St. Louis area, where officers found and arrested 26-year old Tyler Triplett of Sikeston on June 7. Triplett is charged with first-degree murder and first-degree assault. He remains in custody with a cash-only bond of $150,000. Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 573-471-4711. Tips can remain anonymous.
