The IRS is getting ready to auction about 100 acres in Cape Girardeau and Bollinger counties on July 7. One of the parcels is 60.6 acres in unincorporated Whitewater, off Cape Girardeau County Road 379, and the other comprises two parcels of more than 40 acres in Bollinger County. The Bollinger County Assessor’s Office says both sit next to each other off County Road 306 near Highway 51 in Marble Hill. All land is agricultural. Bidding on the Whitewater property begins at $51,100, and the others have a minimum bid of $33,600, to be sold together. The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri ordered both sales. The Cape County property will be sold at 10 a.m. on the courthouse steps at 100 Court St. in Jackson, and the Bollinger County property will be sold at 2:30 p.m. on the front steps of the courthouse in Marble Hill at 204 High St. Registration for potential bidders begins 30 minutes before each auction.
