Repairs to close part of West End Boulevard
Southeast Missourian
In Cape – Repairs to a section of West End Boulevard may cause temporary lane closures. Jokerst Inc. crews will work Wednesday through Friday on part of the street south of the Independence Street intersection that was altered during a recent sewer repair. The city said drivers should use caution in the area and expect intermittent lane closures and detours.
Ameren crews will begin work in Cape Girardeau today, affecting traffic on East Rodney Drive. The crews will be making a gas line tie-in in that area, with work expected to last two days, weather permitting. Southbound East Rodney will be closed from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. during construction, with the lane opening again in the evening hours. Detour signs will mark the traffic route.
In Jackson – North High Street in Jackson will be closed next Monday and Tuesday for sanitary sewer and pavement repairs. Weather permitting, the city of Jackson will handle the sewer main repairs, and the Missouri Department of Transportation will repair pavement. The section of North High Street — a.k.a. U.S. 61 — from Cascade Street to Mary Street will be affected. Motorists should expect to use alternate routes or detour routes that will be established. The detours will divert traffic onto West Jackson Boulevard, South Farmington Road and West Independence Street.
