As the Jackson Civic Center nears completion, the Jackson Parks and Recreation department has begun seeking candidates to staff the facility. Parks and Recreation director Shane Anderson said Monday it is looking to fill one full-time position as building manager and several part-time positions. The total number of anticipated employees has not been determined, but Anderson said hiring should be underway soon. They’re expecting completion by the end of the year. Construction on the Civic Center, which also will function as a 1,990-person-capacity FEMA safe room, began in October.
