Former Congresswoman for Southeast Missouri Jo Ann Emerson is hospitalized in Italy after suffering a brain hemorrhage. The family says she is in stable condition after undergoing surgery. Emerson served as a U.S. representative for Missouri from 1996 to 2013. She’s now chief executive officer of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. An official spokesperson says Emerson fell ill while traveling with her family. Emerson currently lives in the Washington, D.C. area but hails from Cape Girardeau. Our prayers are with JoAnn for a speedy recovery.
FINALLY! And we better support his decision. We are creating a bunch of whiny babies by awarding AVERAGE and celebrating just showing up. We should have to earn things – this is why so many people feel entitled to everything. They are raised to think that sun rises from their behind! When we were kids we got a lousy ribbon if that. And we threw them away. We didn’t get new gloves every baseball season or even new shoes. We wrote our name on masking tape and stuck it to our shirts. That was a jersey. Sure we had school sports with more professional equipment but we didn’t have money to blow on these things. And I don’t remember my parents being at a single one of my softball games. We rode our bikes across town and guess what? We were there on time and got nothing if we didn’t win first place. And oftentimes first place for a ribbon. And that was it. The gimme gimme group we are raising needs to learn to earn. Period. Police: Missouri robber left his heart monitor at the scene
