The Salvation Army is seeking help for the holidays. In preparation for its Thanksgiving dinner, set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 26, the organization is seeking volunteers and all types of items, including main and side dishes, aluminum foil, salt and pepper, 8-ounce cups, silverware, paper products and napkins. More than 1,800 Cape Girardeau County residents take part in the meal annually. For those who can work standing up and are interested in a part-time job, the Salvation Army also is seeking bell ringers for its Christmas-season kettle campaign.
