Two men were arrested Wednesday night and charged Thursday for an armed robbery at St. Joe’s General Store in Perryville. 25-year old Mikeem Raytez Daniel of Haywood City and 21-year old Daniel Lee Gipson of Oran, were charged with felony robbery, armed criminal action, felonious restraint, unlawful use of a weapon, theft, unlawful possession of a firearm and misdemeanor stealing. An employee of the store called 911 at 11:32 p.m. Wednesday and said a man wearing a black jacket and brandishing a silver-barreled handgun came through the back door. He demanded money from the register and the employee’s wallet. He left the store in a white Chevrolet Suburban which was stopped 2 minutes later. Police found a black 9 mm pistol with a round in the chamber and Gipson had $349 in small bills in his pocket.
