The St. Francis Medical Center Sikeston Radiation Oncology practice on Main street will soon have another tool in treating cancer patients. Dr. Benjamin Goodman tells KZIM KSIM the Elekta Synergy linear accelerator is a state of the art approach with 3D images to guide patient setup before radiation therapy begins!
Goodman says the technology will be in use in February 2016. They are updating the entire facility and all patients from that area who currently commute to Cape Girardeau will be transferring to the Sikeston location. He says the short trip to Cape can really take a toll of those undergoing chemotherapy. This saves time and keeps people more comfortable.
