TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Levi Richeson, 37, of Helena, Montana, who assaulted his wife with elk antlers, after she refused to drive him to a strip club.
Police say Richeson and his wife got into an argument that escalated when he pulled the antlers off the wall and attacked her with them.
Fortunately, he missed and then he got a friend to drive him to the strip club after she locked him out of the house.
Richeson, who was on parole for sexual assault at the time of the incident, was arrested for assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, and partner-family member assault.
AND THEN THERE’S …..
Wu Chen, 67, a man in China, who recently lost almost half of his retirement savings after he buried his cash in the ground and it got eaten by worms.
Chen stashed the cash in a plastic bag five years ago, feeling sure it would be safe.
However, when he recently came to make a withdrawal, he found that insects had been feasting on his funds and there wasn’t a lot left.
Chen said that 35,000 RMB ($5,461.79) had been placed in a plastic bag that apparently decomposed and allowed the insects to have access to it.
Ironically his local bank, the one he didn’t trust, has come to the rescue, swapping the notes that are in good enough condition for fresh ones.
In total, the bank was able to piece together and exchange around 20,000 RMB ($3,121) although the rest was beyond help.
OKAY, ONE MORE …..
Samantha Forrest, 34, who got busted for shoplifting sunglasses after cops saw her wearing them in the rain.
Forrest stole a cheap pair of sunglasses from a gas station when a clerk noticed and called police.
She was spotted a quarter-mile away after police spotted her wearing them while she walked down the street in the rain.
The arresting officers knew those were the same glasses because there was still a sticker on one of the lenses and the rain hadn’t washed all the dust off them yet.
As an added bonus, police also found a bag of meth while they were checking her purse.
She’s facing charges for larceny and possession of a controlled substance.
