An arrest warrant was filed Wednesday for 33-year old Stephan Dwayne Anderson of Cape Girardeau, who is accused of forcing a woman in Poplar Bluff to drive him into Cape Girardeau and stealing her purse in February. A probable-cause statement filed by Cape Girardeau Police Department Sgt. Joey Hann says the 33-year-old victim said Anderson approached her vehicle Feb. 15 as she was getting ready to leave her home on Sander Street. He jumped into the vehicle and told her he would kill her if she did not drive him somewhere. Anderson took her phone forcing her to drive to Dudley when he commandeered the car and drove to Cape. The victim claims he was erratic and incoherent. The victim says she was too afraid to flee. Later, at 909 Hackberry Street where he took her purse. The victim was there about two hours when she escaped and called the police. Anderson is charged with felony robbery and felonious restraint and had cash-only bond set at $100,000. He also has active warrants for probation violation and for failing to appear in court.
