TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Jamie Lee Sharp, 25, a British man who filmed himself stealing a Porsche Boxster before crashing it and getting trapped inside.
Sharp stole the keys to a £40,000 ($60,446) Porsche Boxster during a raid on a local dealership.
He filmed himself boasting about the car before getting behind the wheel and hitting on several women.
He ended up getting arrested when he crashed the car, trapping himself and his accomplice, James Honeywell, 26, inside.
Both were jailed on a variety of violations.
AND THEN THERE’S …..
Cathy Bernstein, 57, of Port St. Lucie, Florida, who got ratted out for a hit-and-run earlier this week, by her car.
Bernstein fled the scene after she crashed into the back of a minivan, injuring the driver.
However, her car had an emergency system that automatically contacted the police to tell them there’d been a crash.
Police also found a witness at the scene, who gave them the license plate number from the hit-and-run.
So they went to address, which just so happened to be the same location they received from the automatic response from the car.
They went to her house, saw the serious damage to the vehicle, and arrested her.
OR HOW ABOUT …..
Two different thieves in Calgary, Canada, who tried to steal a guy’s truck on the same morning, but both got foiled because of the snow.
Both suspects managed to drive the stolen Ford F350 pickup only a few yards before crashing and fleeing on foot.
The truck’s owner discovered his damaged vehicle, still running, with a broken ignition that prevented him from shutting it off.
Police are still looking for the attempted car thieves.
OKAY, ONE MORE …..
Muhammad Solomon, 35, an armed robber in Florida, who was arrested after being shot with his own gun.
Solomon tried to rob a residence that was broken into the night before.
The home owner, who was staying there in case another break-in happened, wrestled the gun away from Solomon.
As they continued to scuffle the gun went off, injuring Solomon.
The homeowner called police and Solomon was arrested.
A criminal check was conducted on Solomon, and it was determined that he had 22 prior felony convictions.
He was treated for a non-life threatening injury before being taken into police custody.
