Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore says an investigation Friday resulted in 3 people taken into custody. His department received information that drugs were being distributed by Julius Parham from a Charleston motel. Deputies made contact with Parham, who was with two women. As deputies placed Parham under arrest on a felony warrant stemming from an unrelated matter, they noticed several items of drug paraphernalia lying in plain sight throughout the room. During a subsequent search they found methamphetamine, money, digital scales, and other items of drug paraphernalia commonly associated with the resale of narcotics. 37-year old Julius Devar Parham and 36-year old Terri Nicole Mayabb Brown, both of East Prairie are each charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, a class B felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison. 25-year old Stephanie Lynn Thomas, also of East Prairie, is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a class C felony punishable upon conviction by up to 7 years in the Department of Corrections. All three also faces misdemeanor charges of Unlawful use of Drug Paraphernalia. Their bonds set at $50,000. They are lodged in the Mississippi County Detention Center.
