The Major Case Squad has identified the man shot and killed on Locust Street in Cape Girardeau on Thursday, March 31. Authorities say 28-year-old Airious D Darling of Cape Girardeau was found shot to death on the front porch of a home in the 600 block of Street. Police say Darling did not live at the home, and the homeowner was not there at the time of the shooting. 19-year-old Tavious L. Tipler of Cape Girardeau, has been arrested and charged for his homicide. Tipler was arrested and charged with 1st degree murder, armed criminal action and 1st degree endangering the welfare of a child. His bond was set at $500,000 cash only. Tipler was taken into custody on April 2 for robbery in the 2nd degree for an incident between January 1-15 at 612 Locust in Cape Girardeau. Bond was set at $150,000 cash only.
TL Man back in custody THUR/ FRI 03/31-01 Manhunt called off, suspect in custody…… A Manhunt has been called off, and a man is back in custody in Stoddard County. According to Sheriff Carl Hefner, a man and woman were pulled over by advance police north on Highway 25 on today/ yesterday. They were suspected of writing bad checks. The man was handcuffed, but he and the woman escaped custody. Hefner says the woman was caught soon after, the man was caught in the same area he escaped. Advance schools were placed on a lock down as a precaution. ‘The Messenger’
