Sikeston’s Annual Community Clean-up Program starts April 23 and continues through May 1 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. daily. During this period, Sikeston residents may drop off any large bulky items, rubbish, yard waste, grass clippings, household furniture, and tires no larger than 18 inches without rims at the Compost Site located on Compress Road. The program will also accept household appliances with electric motors, rubber hoses and compressors removed. Hazardous materials or chemicals, asbestos materials, shingles, paint, LP tanks, fuel containers, construction waste, demolition waste and batteries will not be accepted. No commercial dumping is allowed. The Compost Site will be manned and proof of Sikeston residency is required to participate. For more information, call Sikeston City Hall at 471-2512.
