Police arrested a second suspect in connection to a shooting that injured an 8-year-old girl.18-year-old Cassius Benford was arrested on Thursday the 21st on a felony Dunklin County warrant. He faces charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon. His bond is set at $175,000 cash. He is being held at the Dunklin County Jail. The incident happened on March 25th at the corner of Kimball and Francis Street. Reports state that two suspects ran into each other on the street and then each fired a gun. One of the bullets went through a car window, with shattered glass injuring an 8-year-old girl. Her mother says the bullet went through one car window and out between her daughters. Police also took Jarvis Wofford, of Cape Girardeau into custody for his connection to the incident. He is charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm. His bond is set at $175,000 cash.
