Cape Girardeau County Sheriff John Jordan spoke at a law-enforcement memorial Thursday before the Rev. John Harth read off the 49 names of Southeast Missouri officers killed in the line of duty since 1875. Several family members of fallen law-enforcement officers were in attendance. The keynote speaker at the memorial was St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Robert McCullough. His father was a police officer in St. Louis and was killed in the line of duty when McCullough was 12 years old. He has prosecuted several high-profile cases and has served as St. Louis County prosecuting attorney since 1991. Shortly after the opening prayer of the memorial, Seniors and Law Enforcement Together secretary Doug Austin gave the Roger Fields Award of Excellence to (our own) KZIM KSIM Morning radio show host Faune Riggin because of her contributions to the Southeast Missouri law-enforcement community.
