Three people were injured after a shooting in Charleston, Missouri yesterday morning/Tuesday morning. Charleston police began receiving 911 calls of a shooting near the intersection of Vine and Oliver streets Officers found two areas where multiple shots were fired, and several vehicles and homes that had been damaged by gunfire. A short time later, a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was found by Sikeston DPS. During the investigation, victims began arriving at Missouri Delta Medical Center. Later, another vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting was found in Charleston. Police say three people were shot, and four homes and three vehicles were damaged by gunfire. Of the gunshot victims, none of the injuries are life threatening. 24-year-old Hernandez M. Evans of Charleston, was arrested as a suspect. He is currently being held in the Mississippi County Jail and charged with assault, armed criminal action and felonious gang activity. He has a cash only bond of $500,000. The investigation is ongoing. The Charleston DPS was assisted by Sikeston DPS and Missouri State Highway Patrol.
