The 100-Mile Yard Sale begins Thursday. Though it may rain looms, vendors are ready to line up along Highway 25 between Jackson and Kennett for the 18th annual Memorial Day weekend event. Hundreds of vendors will sell their wares, and thousands of shoppers are expected to travel the highway in search of treasure. But the extra activity causes safety concerns because of the stop-and-go nature of the traffic and pedestrians. The Missouri Department of Transportation urges drivers to use extreme caution when driving along Highway 25. MoDOT plans to place signs in locations along Highway 25 to alert drivers of the unusual traffic patterns and to promote safe driving practices. The five-day event begins Thursday morning and continues through Monday.
