The Scott County Transit is sporting a new Sikeston Jaycee-themed vehicle depicting the wide rand of the nonprofit’s community involvement. The Sikeston Jaycees recently donated $10,000 to the transit system to help with the purchase of a new vehicle for Scott County. The transit system received a grant from the Federal Transportation Administration which paid for 80 percent of the vehicle. The Jaycees donation equated to just over 20 percent of the cost of the vehicle. The 10-passenger mini bus is adorned with pictures from past Sikeston rodeos and other Jaycees’ projects, such as its Little League Football program and crawfish boil.
