A Miner man faces multiple felony charges of child molestation in Scott County. 44-year-old Julio Rosendo Sales is charged with nine counts of first-degree child molestation. Miner Police Chief Chris Griggs says officers with the Fugitive Task Force and Kansas City Police Department served a Scott County search warrant, and arrested Sales. Griggs says the warrant stemmed from an investigation being conducted by the Miner Police Department into accusations of Sales and his conduct involving young minor children. Officers with the Sikeston DPS and Miner Police attempted to apprehend Sales on Thursday, however, it was later discovered he fled the area and information led officers to Kansas City. His bond is set at $25,000 cash only, and Sales is awaiting extradition from Jackson County to the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
