Kennett Police say remains that were discovered in a small waterway south of Kennett have been identified as Deana R. Davison. Davison has been missing from Kennett since February 12th, 2015. Samples of the remains were sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol forensics laboratory for identification. The MSHP lab was unsuccessful in obtaining DNA for identification, so the samples from the remains were then sent to the University Of North Texas Center for Human Identification where they were able to extract DNA. The DNA sample was then sent back to the Missouri State Highway Patrol lab where they made a comparison of the DNA extracted from the remains and Davison’s known DNA samples. The comparison revealed a positive identification. The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information contact the Kennett Police Department or the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
