TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Joseph Rosado, 21, who robbed a Delaware bank then locked himself out of his getaway car.
Police say Rosado drove to the bank, parked his getaway car nearby, grabbed his gun, and entered the building.
He demanded cash from tellers and sprinted to his getaway car, only to realize he’d locked it.
He tried the passenger door. It was also locked.
He checked his pockets and realized he didn’t have the keys.
He decided to make a run for it, but was caught by a New Castle County, Delaware police officer.
He’s now behind bars, and again without the keys.
AND THEN THERE’S …..
Reuben Cook, 36, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, who set his apartment on fire so he wouldn’t have to hear his neighbors having sex anymore.
Cook told police he wanted to go to jail because he couldn’t take listening to his upstairs neighbors having sex.
His plan worked, because minutes after the blaze started, the cops showed up and he was arrested for arson.
Luckily the fire didn’t spread.
OR HOW ABOUT …..
Patricia Crowe, 59, who jumped into the ring at a pro-wrestling event in Georgia last weekend, and pulled a gun on one of the wrestlers.
Crowe apparently was upset at how wrestler Paul Lee insulted her on his way to the ring.
While Lee tied up his opponent and started hitting him with a chair, Crowe jumped into the ring, used a knife to free his opponent and pulled a gun on Lee.
As she was being arrested she told the cops, “He was talking mean to me, and I got mad. I guess I just let my temper get the best of me.”
She was arrested for aggravated assault.
OKAY, ONE MORE …..
Roseanna Marie Kiser, 23, a North Carolina woman who was arrested for pouring vodka in the eyes and over the head of a seven-year-old boy who splashed her when he jumped in the pool.
Kiser was drinking poolside at a Sheraton Hotel in Florida when she was hit by a boy’s backsplash.
She confronted him and doused him in vodka and then grabbed him around the chest and pushed him into the pool.
When police responded, Kiser responded by kicking one of the officers in the groin when he was arresting her.
Kiser, who was vacationing at the time, will spend a portion of it in a Florida jail, and has been charged with child abuse and battery on a law enforcement officer.
