Cape Girardeau police arrested local men in connection with recent robberies. 18-year old Damian Gage Sides, of Cape Girardeau was charged with first-degree robbery for his alleged role in incidents from Thursday and Monday. A probable-cause statement filed by Cape Girardeau police says two male victims, age 19 and 18, were parked in a vehicle Thursday night near 921 William Street. Sides approached the vehicle’s and pointed a gun at the men and demanded money. When they refused, Sides loaded a magazine into his gun, chambered a round and said he would shoot one of them in the head. Sides took $70 and fled. The victims identified Sides from a photo lineup. He charged with two counts each of first-degree robbery and armed criminal action but was not arrested until he was implicated in a robbery Monday. A 27-year-old man was visiting a friend on William Street when Sides and 18-year old Darius Latrelle Criddle, of Cape Girardeau met him at the entrance. A gun was drawn and they demanded possessions. Officers found Criddle and Sides in different bedrooms in an apartment at 921 William. A gun and money were found in Sides’ roomCape Girardeau public information officer Adam Glueck said the department is investigating Sides’ claims on other robberies but cannot release details of those robberies. Sides and Criddle were charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action. Their bonds were set at $100,000 cash or surety.
