Two people have been charged in the shooting death of a Cape Girardeau man. 30-year-old Richard L. Jenkins and 22-year-old Laterrius M. Triplett have both been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the second degree, following the shooting death of 30-year-old Brent S. Johnson. Johnson was shot and killed on Wednesday, September 28th after an altercation between Jenkins and Triplett who struggled over a gun that fired, striking Johnson in the chest. After investigating authorities found that both Jenkins and Triplett were convicted felons with a history of various charges. Jenkins is currently on parole and Triplett is currently on probation. Their bonds have been set at $200,000 cash or surety.
