The stepfather arrested in connection to missing teen and her baby will be extradited to Illinois from West Virginia. Captain T. Mike Dixon with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office says 39-year old Christopher Michael Derleth, waived his extradition on Wednesday, October 4 in West Virginia. Arrangements for his extradition are underway. Derleth was arrested on a warrant for aggravated kidnapping and child abduction. 13-year old Katherine Derleth and her infant son Christopher Ray were found in a rural mountain area of West Virginia. Officials had originally issued a nationwide arrest warrant for the stepfather. It was later determined that Katherine Derleth had a pacemaker and might be in medical distress.
