THE SYMBOL OF OUR COUNTRY WILL GET HELP RECOVERING FROM AN INJURY AS A BIRDREHABILITATION CENTER. A Patterson man was traveling to the St. Francis River when he got sidetracked. His trip was turned into a rescue mission when he realized a bald eagle was stuck on a limb line. Mike Allen says he was able to cut the hook out of the eagle’s wing, but the bird wasn’t able to fly. Allen reached out to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and deputies called game wardens in the area, looking for help. When the call went unanswered, Allen took the bird home, kept it in his laundry room overnight and then drove it to a conservation office the next day. The bird is expected to be okay, but it’s going to need some time to recover.
