59-year-old Elizabeth Heilman of Cape Girardeau was arrested on Thursday, November 24th for robbery and possession of a controlled substance. She has been involved with three robberies within the past month, disguised as a man each time. On October 24th, Heilman used pepper spray on a woman in the Trinity Lutheran Church parking lot, demanding her purse. She also used pepper spray on October 28th at Chocolate Works wanting money out of the register, but left after being unfulfilled. She went back to the business on November 17th with a large two-by-four and was given money out of the register. Victims of each crime believed she was male, as she’d had her face covered up each time. Heilman was found at the intersection of Middle Street and Broadway on November 24th, and taken into custody.
