Sunday, March 12th Sikeston DPS officers were called to the 800 block of W. Wakefield for a report of a suspicious odor at an apartment complex. They recognized the odor as burned marijuana. Officers made contact with the residents from where the odor was emanating and were given consent to enter. They found a bag containing approximately four ounces of marijuana in the bathroom. They also discovered other items associated with the sales of marijuana. 25-year old Leslie Redd, of Sikeston was arrested and his vehicle was towed. A search warrant allowed detectives to locate a 9mm pistol under the driver seat and more items associated with the sales of marijuana. Redd is a convicted felon and not allowed to possess a firearm. Redd has been charged with a class C felony, delivery of a controlled substance, bond 20,000 cash or surety. Unlawful possession of a firearm, bond 2,500 cash only.
