Mississippi County Sheriff Cory Hutcheson says an investigation began Friday when deputies were dispatched to a Bertrand residence in reference to a domestic disturbance with an ambulance dispatched for a stabbing victim. The deputy observed a man with a laceration to his neck before he was transported to a local hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. There was probable cause to believe there had been a disturbance between the victim and Greg Bain. An affidavit says the men exchanged words when Bain allegedly used a knife to cut the victim’s throat. 61-year old Bain, of Bertrand is charged with Domestic Assault in the First Degree, a class A felony and Armed Criminal Action. He remains in the Mississippi County Detention Center with a bond of $100,000.
