Missouri Attorney General visits Cape Girardeau

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt visited Cape Girardeau.

Schmitt spoke on various issues, including human trafficking, the opioid crisis, and violent crime.

Schmitt hopes to meet with prosecuting attorneys across the state like he met with the attorneys in southeast Missouri.

He was sworn in as an Attorney General in January.

During his first month in office, he has worked on issues of violent crime, debtor’s prisons, and gained consumer settlements.
