Several area fire Crews were on the scene of a brush fire in Cape Girardeau County on Tuesday. Close to 10 acres burned on County Road 231, about 1 mile north of Highway A. The owner says he started a controlled burn in the morning but left when he believed it was completely out. The wind stirred up embers and reignited it causing it to spread. No structures were affected and no one was injured. Firefighters from Gordonville, Dutchtown, Jackson, Cape Girardeau and Millersville monitored the hotspots.
