A Cape Girardeau man is facing charges after allegedly firing a weapon at a vehicle. On Saturday, officers responded to the 900 block of Rodney Vista Boulevard in Cape Girardeau in reference to a report of shots fired. Cpl. Darin Hickey of the Cape Girardeau Police Department says officers spoke with a woman who said a man she identified as 28-year old Brandon King drove past her as she was parked on Whitener Street and fired a gun at the car. She also heard two to three more shots as she drove away from the area. Police found a bullet hole and bullet in the trunk of the vehicle, as well as six shell casings in the parking lot near where the woman said the shots had been fired. Charges were submitted to the prosecutor’s office for first-degree assault. On Monday afternoon, an officer found King and arrested him on an outstanding warrant for unlawful use of a weapon. King is in custody on a $35,000 cash or surety bond. At the time this incident allegedly occurred, King was out on bond for an unrelated charge of resisting arrest.
