TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
27-year-old Tyler Trammell, an Arizona man who was caught robbing a Wal-Mart bank by a detective who was there to investigate the LAST TIME Trammell robbed that exact same bank.
Trammell passed the teller a note and was stuffing money into a bag when the plainclothes detective recognized him and followed him outside.
Trammell tried desperately to hail a getaway cab, but the cop arrested him after a short foot chase.
He said he kept robbing the same bank because he “needed money because this country is so (expletive) up.”
AND THEN THERE’S …..
Marsha Yumi Perry, 36, an Oregon woman who hit a five-year-old with her truck, and then instead of seeing if the child was okay, tried to hide from the cops by lying in a shallow hole and burying herself with dirt.
Witnesses said that, although the boy only suffered minor cuts, Perry tried to drive away from people urging her to stop.
She then got out and ran for it and ultimately hid in a shallow hole in a field a few blocks away.
A police dog sniffed within 5 feet of her location before she gave herself up.
Perry was arrested on accusations of felony hit-and-run, driving with a suspended license, and on a misdemeanor warrant.
OR HOW ABOUT …..
Yousuf Sharif, 35, who decided to spark hijacking fears on board an Air India flight after he tried to flirt with a flight attendant and was rejected.
Sharif was requesting the crew member pose for a selfie and he tried to engage her in a conversation, to which she objected.
Rather than sitting back down, Sharif then declared that he had a bomb, causing the stewardess to alert the pilot, who made an emergency landing.
Sharif was questioned by police, but no charges have yet been filed so far.
OKAY, ONE MORE …..
Maibritt Canterbury, 39, a Florida woman who was arrested for arson after setting her husband’s clothes on fire, only to have them burn down her house.
She and her 47-year-old husband apparently had a massive argument and started burning each other’s property in the back yard.
Canterbury eventually skipped a step and just lit up her husband’s clothes as they were hanging in his closet.
Their house caught fire and she was arrested for arson.
