TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
A Wakefield, England man who drove his car through a public fountain to get a free car wash.
Hundreds of people were enjoying the fountain jets in the center of the city when the man began driving around them in circles as people scattered and ran.
Police arrived a few moments later and a brief chase ensued before he was apprehended.
The man told cops he was only doing it because he didn’t have money for a car wash.
He was arrested for disorderly conduct and several counts of reckless driving.
AND THEN THERE’S …..
Cateria Thomas, a Florida woman who was arrested for drunk driving while breastfeeding.
Police noticed her driving with expired tags and saw a child bouncing around on her lap.
After pulling her over, they discovered 3 other toddlers in the back seat as well.
Thomas failed a sobriety test, but told police she hadn’t been drinking, she’d just eaten hamburgers with whiskey in them.
Thomas was arrested on multiple charges and has not posted bail.
OR HOW ABOUT …..
A British man was arrested for trying to break into a home by crawling through the cat flap in their door.
The homeowner was awakened by the sound of the man trying to break through the flap with a shovel.
He grabbed the shovel while his wife called police.
The would-be burglar eventually let go of the shovel and ran off, only to get caught by police a short while later.
OKAY, ONE MORE …..
Lindsey Perkins, a Vermont woman who was busted with her boyfriend for taking a joy ride with her 5-year-old son on the roof of the car.
A witness saw them driving at speeds up to 55 m.p.h. and took video on her phone before calling police.
Perkins told police the ride lasted 2 miles, but that her son didn’t mind.
She was arrested for reckless endangerment and the child was taken into custody by the state.
