New Madrid police officer Brandon Hanner was run over during a traffic stop on Monday on Dawson Road just before 4 pm. Missouri State Highway Patrol reports indicate that the driver, 43-year-old Ron C. Murphy, of New Madrid, was taken into custody. He is facing charges of first degree assault on a law enforcement officer. Chief Joey Higgerson says Hanner was training another officer during a traffic stop and as He was talking to Murphy he was acting suspicious. Hanner reached in the car to try and get the keys out of the ignition when Murphy put the car in drive and took off, dragging the officer about 10 yards before he then allegedly ran over the officer’s left leg and arm. Higgerson says Murphy then allegedly put the car in reverse and started towards them. Both officers rolled into a ditch and Murphy allegedly crashed the car and was taken into custody. Officer Hanner is in stable condition with serious injuries at a Sikeston hospital.
I would suppose when they can’t get more drugs they may kill to get them. I know a lot of people with chronis pain who are crazed maniacs slaughtering people in anger. And I know a LOT of people who don’t do any drugs who crazy things. What does that mean? The studies are worth the paper they are written on. Use everything as prescribed and you should be ok. Some will falter and go cray cray but they most likely had the path for that prior. Jackson approves $1.4 million contract for bridge replacement
