Jackson storm siren will be inoperable for several more days
Southeast Missourian
After a week full of severe weather, one of Jackson’s storm sirens is not functioning.
Jackson fire Chief Jason Mouser says the malfunction’s cause has not been determined and could take more than 2 weeks to fix but they are hoping it will be done by the end of next week. The other eight sirens still are functional. Because there is so much overlap in the system Jackson still has about 95 percent coverage of the city. Still, Mouser urges you to stay aware of severe warning via radio and Internet alerts. The city will issue another announcement when the storm-siren issue is resolved.
