Pachyderms to discuss Cape, Jackson ballot initiatives

The Southeast Missouri Pachyderm Club will host Cape Girardeau and Jackson city officials at its Thursday meeting to discuss upcoming ballot initiatives. On Aug. 4, Jackson voters will decide on a $11.5 million water-system bond issue. Cape Girardeau voters will decide whether to renew a half-cent transportation sales tax, also known as the Transportation Trust Fund. The program will be at Dexter Bar-B-Que, 236 S. Broadview St. in Cape Girardeau and is open to the public. The group gathers at 6 p.m. to eat. A brief business meeting begins at 6:45 p.m., and the program follows at 7 p.m.
