49-year old Katherine Denise Gregory of East Prairie woman was arrested after an animal abuse investigation by the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Department. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and animal abuse. Her bond was set at $25,000. Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore says the investigation began Sunday at the Eagles Landing subdivision for a report of animal abuse. Witnesses told them Gregory was abusing a dog. They felt the claims were substantiated. Gregory also reportedly had various drugs and paraphernalia. Gregory was arrested and taken to the Mississippi County Detention Center.
