The body of a man who went missing last week while kayaking on the Current River has been found.
The body of a man who went missing last week while kayaking on the Current River has been found. Missouri State Highway Patrol reports indicate 50-year old Russ O’Neal, 50 was found in the river approximately 6 o’clock Sunday night. His body was found near his kayak. The Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, The Missouri State Highway Patrol, emergency management, dive teams, search dogs teams, the Missouri Department of Conservation, and volunteers conducted the search. Ripley County Sheriff Ron Barnett says O’Neal was reported missing late on Thursday afternoon. He says O’Neal apparently wore a brace on his leg. He says emergency crews found his kayak upside-down in the river along with some of this belongings.
