TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Ashley Nichols, 20, Mattica Brook, 30 and a third unidentified person, who left a child behind in an effort to avoid getting caught shoplifting at an Illinois Wal-Mart.
Surveillance video showed a security guard chasing the three of them when they dropped the little boy and just kept going.
Police caught two of them and charged them with retail theft and endangering the life of a child.
AND THEN THERE’S …..
Shannon Csapilla, 20, a Connecticut woman who keyed the cars of her boyfriend and her friend, because she thought the two were sleeping together.
However, in keying one car, she misspelled the word “whore,” W-O-R-E.
When police asked her to come in for a talk, she complied, but was uncooperative and denied vandalizing the cars.
When she left police headquarters, she took a picture of the building and put it up on Snapchat, with the caption, “Stamford police have nothing on me.”
Police were alerted to the posting and obtained two arrest warrants and took her into custody at her home.
Csapilla is now prohibited from contacting her ex-boyfriend and her girlfriend until the case is adjudicated.
OR HOW ABOUT …..
Marc Rehmar, 58, who was arrested for running onto an airport ramp in an attempt to stop a departing plane at Denver International Airport.
Rehmar was apparently running late for a flight to Ohio, where he was due to attend a high school reunion.
But he arrived at the gate just as the plane was pushing back.
Determined to get on that plane, he then “forcibly” opened a locked emergency exit door, which triggered an alarm, then ran down the secured jet bridge area toward the plane.
He caught up with the man driving a tug, who stopped his vehicle.
Rehmar repeatedly insisted on boarding the plane, but was denied access and arrested for endangering public transportation, and hindering transportation.
OKAY, ONE MORE …..
A man in Wales, who was issued a parking ticket, got angry and threw it on the ground, then received another ticket for littering.
The cop who issued the man a £60 ($69) parking ticket later spotted him tossing it his car window.
He then pulled him over and tacked on a another £75 ($86.51) fine for littering.
