Several school-board seats also were up for election Tuesday. Voters in the Oran School District had the opportunity to choose two board members. Garrett Cook and Carrie Massey received the majority of the vote, with 30.77 percent and 25.43 percent, respectively. James Watkins took in 23.29 percent and Clare Urhahn received 20.51 percent.
Voters in the Scott County Central School District chose Lucy Alberson and Travis Glueck for two open school board positions, grabbing 32.35 and 31.60 percent of the vote respectively. Melette Pobst received 16.79 percent, Carmen Thomas took in 19.01 percent, and a write-in candidate received one vote, 0.25 percent.
Voters in Scott and Mississippi counties voted on two open school board seats in the Kelly School District. Adjusted to include both counties, John Felter received 21.73 percent of the vote and Roger Neumeyer received 21.39 percent of the vote in this close race. Kindel Ward took in 19.88 percent. Kellie Bridges got 18.61 percent, and Jerry Wolsey received 17.92 percent.
