TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Ernest Price, 49, who was acting as his wife’s getaway driver and accidentally ran her over with his truck.
Police say Cynthia Cornethan, 49, shoplifted $750 worth of items from a Seattle area Kohl’s with the intention of jumping in her husband’s car.
A security guard started chasing her and another accomplice through the parking lot so Earnest decided to try and run the security guard over.
The guy jumped out of the way in time and Earnest hit his wife instead.
She was able to get back up, and they drove off.
She dropped the bag of stuff she was stealing when she got hit and also dropped her purse with her I.D. in it.
Police haven’t been able to track her down yet, or the woman who was with her.
However, Ernest was arrested last week, and he’s facing charges for second-degree assault and second-degree theft.
AND THEN THERE’S …..
Jonathan Morrow, who used his daughter as a human shield while wearing a t-shirt that said “Number One Dad.”
Police in Kentucky tried to use a Taser on Morrow, who had a drug trafficking warrant.
However, he pulled his 14-year-old daughter in front of himself as a human shield.
It apparently worked because he got both of his kids in the car and sped off.
Apparently he dropped them off with a relative and then kept going, because the cops still haven’t found him.
When they do, he’s looking at a few new charges, including fleeing the police and child endangerment.
OR HOW ABOUT …..
Karla Munoz, 23, who was busted with 116 pounds of pot, because her kids weren’t wearing seat belts.
Munoz, from Arizona, got pulled over in Memphis, Tennessee because a trooper noticed that her five-year-old and seven-year-old kids weren’t wearing seat belts.
The trooper wasn’t buying her excuses and asked if he could search the car, and Munoz said yes.
Police found 116 pounds of marijuana hidden under the floorboards that were covered with lead so that X-ray machines wouldn’t spot the weed when she crossed the border from Mexico.
Munoz was arrested for felony drug possession.
No word on if the seat belt charge was also assessed.
OKAY, ONE MORE …..
An unidentified man in Texas, who called police after smoking pot and getting bitten in the buttocks by his dog.
The man initially told police that someone shot him in the buttocks.
However, it turned out he’d been smoking pot and his dog bit him when it got scared by some thunder.
He was treated at the scene by EMS and released.
No word on if he was charged for drug possession.
