A local LGBTQ group has organized a candlelight vigil at 8 p.m. today in Capaha Park for the victims of the mass shooting at Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida. President of LGBT Ally and Advocate Alliance, Amber Moyers, says people should gather in the park at the corner of Broadway and West End Boulevard. She says 1,000 Facebook invitations have been submitted with people wanting to attend. Retired pastor Michael Davis will lead the group in prayer. The names of all the deceased victims, at least 49 people as of Tuesday, will be read, and red balloons will be released. Pastor Tyler Tankersley says First Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau will open its sanctuary at 8 p.m. today to anyone who wants to pray for the victims.
