TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Michael Rooney, 35, an Irishman who incorrectly thought if he covered himself in butter it would make it harder for the cops to arrest him.
Police in Listowell County, Ireland were called to Rooney’s house after he got into an argument with the mother of his two children and began smashing the furniture in their house.
Rooney barricaded himself into the house when they arrived and then stripped to his waist and started covering himself with butter, thinking he’ll be too slippery for cops to grab him.
Police then fired pepper spray into the house, causing Rooney to surrender.
AND THEN THERE’S …..
A 56-year-old man in Canada, who got into a heated family discussion over whether the Earth was flat and he threw a propane tank into the campfire.
The man, his son, and his son’s girlfriend were camping when they got into a debate over whether the Earth was flat or round.
The man got so angry that he started throwing stuff into their campfire including a propane tank.
The fire got out of control, so firefighters had to come put it out.
Police also came to sort things out, but the man fled.
When he is caught he’s looking at criminal mischief charges.
OR HOW ABOUT …..
A guy in Colorado, who gave a $1,000 tip at a Thai restaurant, then came back the next day to ask for it back… all because he was drunk.
The restaurant owner knew something was amiss with a tip that large, so she decided to hang onto the cash in case the man came to his senses and realized what he did.
The unidentified customer came back the next day and asked for the money back.
He said he thought he was giving them $1 bills, not $100s.
The owner gladly gave the man his money back and the man still left a $100 tip for the staff.
