A Sikeston man and woman were arrested Friday on drug and stolen-property charges by Scott County and Cape Girardeau County sheriff’s deputies. 42-year-old Jason M. Spence is charged with second-degree trafficking a controlled substance, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, receiving stolen property and unlawful possession of firearms. 27-year-old Margret A. Francis is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says investigators worked to find stolen property at the Spence residence. During the search, deputies seized several illegal items from a portable building they said were stolen from Cape Girardeau County. Police found bags of a crystal-type substance, a bag containing a substance that tested positive for THC, several firearms and various drug paraphernalia including items commonly used for distribution. Spence is not legally permitted to possess firearms. Walter says Spence remains in the Scott County Jail on a $75,000 bond. Francis posted a $25,000 bond and will appear in court July 7.
