TODAY’S GENIUS AWARD GOES TO . . . . . . .
Kenneth Fennell White, 49, and Terry Brown, 23, who were part of a group of people in Alabama who shot a Mannequin Challenge video while holding assault weapons, causing police to raid the house and make a drug bust.
Police saw the video after it was posted on Facebook, and all those hardcore weapons made them suspicious, so they started investigating.
They obtained a search warrant and they raided the house and found a marijuana dealing operation set up, plus a bunch of the guns.
White and Brown were arrested on drug and weapons charges.
AND THEN THERE’S …..
William Gonzalez, 28, a police officer in Las Cruces, New Mexico, who has been cited for indecent exposure and suspended for greeting a pizza delivery woman completely in the nude.
According to the report, the woman said Gonzalez told her he had just gotten out of the shower, but she noticed his hair was dry and he didn’t have a towel.
After he signed the receipt, she said, he went back inside the home to get her a tip and returned to the front door with cash, but still naked.
The officer, a five-year veteran of the force, was “immediately” placed on administrative leave and to compound his problems, Gonzalez allegedly pleaded with another officer to persuade the woman not to file a police report.
OR HOW ABOUT …..
An unidentified car thief in Seattle, who swiped a BMW, only to have BMW employees track it remotely and lock the doors with him inside until police arrived.
The victim reported his car stolen then contacted BMW corporate.
Police officers were given the current location of the vehicle by an employee of BMW.
Police say they found the car idling in an alley with the suspect asleep inside.
Officers roused the suspect, who quickly, but unsuccessfully, tried to drive away.
OKAY, ONE MORE …..
Eric Jones, who caused delays in and out of New York City because he pulled the emergency door release on a New Jersey Transit train after his cell phone fell between two cars.
After the alarm was sounded, a crew member stopped the train and Jones reportedly “opened the doors and jumped onto the tracks.”
Jones is in custody and has been charged by New Jersey Transit Police for interfering with transportation and defiant trespass.
No word on if he found his phone.
